Hi!

My name is Audrey Briot, I am based in Paris and in south of France. I am a textile designer and researcher, I am also one of the co-founder of DataPaulette which is a collective and hackerspace dedicated to research in textile technology and soft materials.
My work is dedicated to the positive impact of emerging technologies on the preservation of savoir-faire, especially in textiles. I am focusing on non-verbale communication transmitted by textiles which represent for her an entire culture and even a substitute of writing. In order to do so I rely on anthropological researches going back to the Paleolithic. Following this direction I connect machines and computers to make textiles which are memory vectors with added data and interactivity.

My expertise is in textile design, weaving, knitting, silk screen printing and e-textiles.
