I am excited to start together this journey and share with you my DIY hacking experience on bio-textiles, applied for female intimate care.

This challenging exploration started in 2015 during my Master at Central Saint Martins when I was researching the symbiotic relationship between human and non-human.
I fully dived into the skin microbiome sphere and the world of biophilia getting interested in second alive conductive skins. So I started to grow kombucha at home and to hack the process of growing by adding, injecting and mixing conductive powders or inks in the fermented broth. In the beginning, the cellulose was conductive only when the in-water solution and stable with voltage or resistance when dried.
So I went deep into a more complex blending of the technology until I grew 60 L of kombucha to grow a cellulose mannequin which never effectively came and I moved completely to a new form of living organisms, bacteria.

Working with living organisms requires love, care and time.

I chose the lactobacillus bacteria and I was growing them between the kitchen and my room becoming totally in symbiosis with them. I was followed by experts that were suggesting me some techniques to not contaminate the scene and grow them healthy. In the beginning, I just wanted to understand the live probiotic pattern of those bacteria which is very similar to the healthy vaginal flora, made of different lactobacillus. I continued to grow bacteria with textiles, trying to see until which point they will merge and how.

Then I developed Future Flora - a harvesting kit designed for females to prevent early bacterial infections.

Now - my mission as an interaction designer is to combine biotechnologies and electronic textiles to empower females and their intimate health.

During this collaborative residency, I would love to continue my exploration of skin symbiosis and have an impact on distancing social issues. Excited to start collaborating!
